Best Hikes in Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona
The Pinetop-Lakeside area has a lot of hikes, and what better way to get to know your family or friends than being out in nature with them?
Here are 10 hikes in the White Mountains that will help you get in tune with nature. All of these trails are dog-friendly, so don’t be afraid to bring the pets.
#1. Blue Ridge Cave Trail No.608
This trail is a beautiful walk through the woods. There is a nearby stream, and the hike is fairly easy. It is 4.6 miles long and would take about an hour and a half to finish. The trail can get a bit rocky, and there are also sometimes horseback rides on the trail, but the views make it worth it!
The best time to visit is April through October.
#2. Country Club Trail No.632
This trail is 3.4 miles long and is a loop trail. It should take about an hour and ten minutes to finish. The best time to visit is May through October. It’s a lovely walk, and sometimes wildlife can be seen on the hike.
#3. Show Low Lake Trail
This is another great hike. It’s about 2.2 miles and the route type is out and back. It takes roughly 41 minutes to complete. The trail is peaceful and great to visit at any time of the year. You can observe ducks and other wildlife, it's also a great place to admire the fall leaves.
#4. Springs Trail
Springs Trail is 3.6 miles and the route type is a loop. This trail takes about an hour and 11 minutes to complete. This trail is great to visit year-round. It’s a popular trail so you’ll most likely meet other people. This trail is beautiful with a spring running through it, and is an easy stroll. You also might see some wild horses on the trail!
#5. Woodland Lake Outer Loop
This trial is 3.7 miles in length and is a loop. It should take you about an hour and 18 minutes to finish. This trail is a great place to go birding, mountain biking, walking dogs on or off leash, and hiking.
#6. Moonridge Trail
This is a 1.4-mile, 27-minute-long dirt path trial. Dogs on and off leash are welcome.
#7. Pat Mullen Mountain via Sierra Springs Ranch
This is another excellent hike in Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona. Route type: out and back, 3.2 miles, beautiful wildflowers, 1h 20m moderately challenging, hiking, mountain biking, running, dogs welcome, only off leash in some areas
#8. Woodland Lake Trail
This hike is 1.1 miles in length, it takes about 20 minutes from start to finish. It's an easy Loop hike. Dogs are welcome. It's great for walking, biking, and running.
#9. Big Springs Trailhead
This trail is easy and by the water. It also connects to the White Mountain trail system, so you can either choose to do the short half-mile loop or do a much longer hike. There is a small pond, dogs are welcome, and it's a great area for birding.
#10. Show Low Creek Meadow Trailhead
This hike is about 1.5 miles long currently (paved) and will eventually loop back around on the east side of Show Low Creek. Picnic tables available · Dogs allowed outside restrooms disc golf and fishing spots, easy loop, 1-2 hours.
